Nuclear Security Summit: China’s five pledges

As the Nuclear Security Summit comes to a close, China and dozens of other nations are looking towards the future.

In addition to the work at the summit itself, there were many sideline meetings, including several conducted by President Xi Jinping.

CCTV America’s Nathan King has more.

China is a nuclear power in both the military and civilian sphere.

President Xi said he recognizes that the recent threat of terrorists getting their hands on nuclear material is going up, not down.

On the final day of the summit, world leaders who helped negotiate the landmark deal with Iran over its nuclear program, gathered to mark the historical accord and check on progress. China, the U.S., the Republic of Korea and Japan also used this summit to present a united opposition to the DPRK’s illegal nuclear program.

Chinese officials believe this summit has shown cooperation on multiple fronts.
