IAEA Director-General Yukiya Amano with CCTV America Wang Guan

The danger of a nuclear terror attack is “very real” and nations should “stay very vigilant”, IAEA Director-General Yukiya Amano told CCTV- America’s Wang Guan in an exclusive interview.

Amano explained why this upcoming Nuclear Security Summit is important to solving today’s nuclear security challenges, chief among them: nuclear terrorism. He singled out recently launched China-U.S. Center of Excellence on Nuclear Security as a good example of global cooperation. The IAEA chief also commented on the latest UN sanction on the DPRK (also known as North Korea) and said the IAEA is “ready to send back inspectors” to DPRK’s nuclear facilities.
